Why I haven’t asked—yet
Reader, Lately, I've been hearing questions like:
The short answer? I haven't been ready to ask. The longer answer tells the story of who I've decided to serve—and why. So, in addition to my regular newsletter this week, I'd love to tell you a story. Who I'm building this for. When it comes to leadership and team development, I believe two audiences are being underserved—and often served in the wrong way. They’re full of energy, drive, and purpose. They want to learn, grow, and succeed with others, not go it alone. They care about collaboration, impact, and doing work that matters. They are:
Why Millennial and Gen Z leaders? Rising as a young leader is incredibly hard right now. You're eager to learn and grow, but your boss or organization doesn't really know how to help you—so you feel a lot of pressure to figure it out alone. You’ve worked through years of global uncertainty. You’ve seen cracks in the systems that promised stability. So you’re trying to give your all to a team while also protecting your future. And sometimes you feel misunderstood. Every time I think back to my 20s and 30s, I realize how priceless it would have been to:
When rising leaders know how to develop themselves, the benefits ripple outward:
And so much more. Why Founders? You start with a vision, build from scratch, bring others along, face obstacle after obstacle—and keep going. But then comes a frustrating challenge: How do you build a team that can think and act like entrepreneurs, too? You want a team that takes initiative. That matches your energy with their own passion and drive. A team of quick learners who can move forward and take risks—without relying on you for every decision. I'll never forget the burning desire I had, as a first-time entrepreneur, to work with people who get it. When leadership and agency scales across every level of an organization, here's what happens:
And so much more. Testing the idea. Last fall, I ran a pilot program with a cohort of rising leaders.
My hypothesis: If I teach rising leaders how to think from a higher perspective and give them a model for their growth, they’ll lead with more clarity, confidence, and impact—immediately. What they said: "It's helped me zoom out of my day-to-day work and think bigger. It's allowed me to examine what I bring to the table and helped me appreciate the diversity and strengths of my team." ~Kelly, Director of Programs & Impact
"I'm putting learning into practice immediately at work. I have tools to handle situations that might have baffled me had I not been in this course. I highly recommend." ~Will, Sourcing Manager UK+Spain
"My biggest challenge was learning to address issues without being overly critical or avoiding tough discussions altogether. I gained confidence in handling difficult conversations effectively. I highly recommend this course." ~Sarah, Sales Department Manager
"This coursework is a total game-changer, and our session on facilitating vs. advocating was mind blowing for me. I would absolutely recommend this program! "Carson, Director of Individual Giving
"I can't believe how my perspectives have shifted. I now see my peers as trusted advisors. ~Meghann, Director of Programs
And from their managers: "So much more in sync with me now."
"More consistent and able to stay the course."
"Something's different—more grounded and confident."
"More capacity to navigate the hard things."
"Better decisions. More ownership."
"More present and effective with the team."
What's next. I’m redesigning the program to make it even more effective and impactful. The newsletters I write? They’re just a taste of what’s inside. Soon, I'll be launching: A core program for Millennial and Gen Z leaders to:
And develop agency to confidently step into higher levels of leadership and responsibility—without having to reimagine their leadership with each new role. A team program where I'll work with a few Founders who are desperate to build this kind of a team across their org. How you can help: If you feel moved to support this work, here’s how:
